We offer an artist residency to promote and expand the future works of the artist/designer through collaboration with Casting de Khrysopoeia. The artist-in-residence will have the opportunity to create a limited edition jewelry collection of 5-7 pieces. The collection of jewelry created through the Residency program should be works that expound on the artist’s proposed statement. The artist will complete wax carvings at our location during the studio availability hours and cast their pieces in house.

The duration of the Artist in Residence program is 3 weeks.
3 days a week up to 3 hours a day
Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 6pm
Other times may be requested by the artist candidate. Requested times must be submitted to management within 48 hours of the desired time and is subject to approval.
A jewelry collection made from 6 ounces of sterling silver. Additional silver can be purchased for a quantity up to and no more than 7 pieces.

Residency fees and costs include:
• Up to one-hour of designer and/or branding consulting or demonstration from management per studio visit
• 6 Ounces of .925 Sterling Silver Casting Grain
• Flask set up of Collection
• Lost wax casting labor
• Wax carving tools, consumables, equipment and machinery
• Finishing tools, consumables, equipment and machinery
• Studio maintenance
Additional .925 Sterling Casting Grain can be purchased if necessary to produce the works.

What is the mission of the artist residency?
Casting de Khrysopoeia offers a three-week residency program for artists/designers to expose participants to the unique world of jewelry design and manufacturing.
What kind of artists are welcome in the residency?
Artists of all mediums are welcome. We encourage non-artists to apply for the residency program, as we offer a pre-production design consultation with our team of jewelers.
Is there an education requirement for the residency?
No, there is no education requirement. The participant must submit a resume or (CV) and a statement of purpose.

Can I sign up for the artist residency if I have no experience in the in the jewelry field?
You don’t have to have jewelry technical skills to apply for the artist in residence program. All applicants that submit the application prerequisites will be admitted to the program.
Is there an age requirement for the residency?
Yes, participant must be at least 18 years of age.
Is there a training session provided in the residency?
Yes, our team will guide you through the lost-wax casting process. We will provide a design consultation pre-production.
